Just came across these pics today and thought I would share. Don't know much other than this buck was killed in the 40's. I don't think it has ever been officially scored either.

Enjoy

nothingin the photo is photoshopped besides the faces in the photos on the wall. I think the person who got it mounted wanted a buck with a big rut swollen neck and the taxidermist got a little carried away.

I'm looking for a copy of a picture that had what i consider to be close to a new world record deer. Two bucks are shown upright, spread legged side by side, in the snow. The widest one, i think is a 4x4 that's close to 40" and might look bigger than the other buck at first glance, a very tall, super heavy non-typical with a super main frame and 37 points. My uncle, Phil Sanders, Lamoil, Elko area, killed the buck on the Spanish Ranch in the 50's while cowboying for their outfit. He and his foreman shot the monster bucks horseback and my uncle Phil said that he took his to town and won a fancy new 30-30 rifle in Elko with it. Told me that he got drunk, spent some money on female companionship, drank some more, got in a fight and ended up in jail.

When he got out, he went back to the winter range job he was working, broke, with nothing but that monster set of Non-typ's. He tacked em on the cabin and it promptly burned to the ground.

He had a picture. i saw it and was simply awed. He passed away years ago now, and i don't have a clue what became of it or if there's another copy out there in Nev, maybe the formans copy.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Joey
