LAST EDITED ON May-08-15 AT 10:19PM (MST)[p]Just curious what you guys think of the north cache muzzy hunt for elk. What caliber of bulls a guy would see ? Is there a lot of elk ? Thanks in advance

That's kinda what I was expecting. Thanks for the link. I was contemplating buying a tag I found for sale but it don't sound like it's worth it. I was looking into the north or south cache. The north was more expensive for some reason.

LAST EDITED ON May-11-15 AT 10:41AM (MST)[p]Kramer,

I won that tag last year and hunted all days but one. Toughest hunt with hardly any elk sightings on North side. I did finally get into them and missed a small six point. I would not waste 2 or more points on it. You need horses but then all the cattle and muzzy deer hunters get in the way.

How is the south cache ? Any better or the same. I read a thing saying the south had Bulls up to 360 but expect a 320 plus. And north they said 280 to 320. It sounds like the north is not very good from what I'm gathering. Thanks for the reply I appreciate it.

The south is better, but any six pt would be good on the north. Sounds like your being over sold. IMO

Thanks for the input. Last year I seen the tag for 2500 dollars this year they want like 6 for it which seems high. So I'm sure it's getting over rated a little. IS that country pretty rugged ?

LAST EDITED ON May-12-15 AT 06:00PM (MST)[p]The north is not worth $500 the south maybe worth the $2,500.

The LE rifle elk hunt only has LE rifle Elk hunters----

BUT

The LE muzzy elk hunt has plenty of General muzzy buck deer hunters----circle jerk for sure...

Rifle is definitely the better hunt. Agreed with the south maybe worth the $2500, north I would give $500, if I had it to give. I would expect a 250-300 bull on the south but 330 isn't out of the question. The north as I mentioned before, I wouldn't pass up any decent bull, 300 is possible but not likely. There are bigger bulls on both units but not many.
