G'day

I was lucky enough to finally draw a late season rifle unit in Az 27 but the problem I have is living in Australia makes it pretty hard to scout :). I do have some really good mates who live in Az who will be helping on my hunt but I wondered if anyone has any areas they might consider sharing that may have some decent bulls in come late Nov.

Backpacking in is fine the further away from roads etc the better for me, I don't want any specific spots but just a little general help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

Welcome to MM sir, love the folks from down under. I'm a NM guy and we have been Blessed with some great Basketball talent on ourTeam ( Luke Longley/ Cam Bairstow/ Huge Greenwood) hopefully more to come. Back to elk on a late Nov. hunt ,it no secret they will be in tough terrain recouping from the rut. Good area knowledge will be the key to getting a big one. They ARE THERE. I've applied for a late rifle deer tag in that unit so maybe you can give me some guidance after you tag out . Don't personally know that unit well yet, hope your local Mates can hook you up.

Welcome.
I have only hunted NM side of border units. But been in and around 27 a bunch. They are in there for sure. An isolated bench on North slope near h2o would be good place to start.

I feel that if you want to find a good bull go on a walkabout into the Bear Wallow wilderness. Rough country but big bulls do hang in in there....
