So you all remeber the post about the shed hunter (CRAZY KARL) chaising deer a few weeks ago?

Well after several phone calls from me, the finally responded.
They said they will move forward with this and issue a ticket.

THEN, they called me back and said that the head guys in the ofice wanted to wait and talk about it. I guess in Utah it's not what you know or have pictures and evidence of, but WHO YOU KNOW.

The dwr is not going to do a thing about it.

So what is the law? OH, wait, if you know people in the office you can do what ever the hell you want!!!!

Is is just me or is there something wrong with this????

I think its wrong, but get more video footage, eventually they will have to do someting other than sit on their thumbs.

It doesnt surprise me in the least bit. Until laws are passed that lay out specifics your not going to get anywhere.

Go ahead and flame away people, knock yourselves out. What sucks is that people are now branching out to neighboring states and pulling these same stunts. Look a the thread that Founder posted. Its an epidemic and its killing deer.

I wonder how long it will take some people to pull their head out of....... and realize something needs to be done.

Unfortunatly most of us realized that as stupid as he is and as wrong as he was to harass deer, he ultimatly knew people that covered for him. Really makes people think twice about turning people in for violations if the DWR makes exceptions for friends and family. Whomever ultimatly made the call to not do anything in the DWR is a loser, and Crazy Karl is a loser as well. Maybe Karl should look at deer as an important resource and not just a shed, I'd even go as far as say that he should view them like he does the discount Wrangler jeans bin at Reams....

Perhaps the laws should be changed to make the death of wildlife from harrassment the same as poaching. Not that poaching laws are very harsh.

I think what was done with regard to the shed situation was BS. The shed hunter should be ashamed.

Unfortunately, I think with some of you the issue is more sour grapes that you couldn't be up there gathering sheds.

The FACT of the matter is - you do whatever the GD hell you want on your own property. Walking around with permission on private property is not against the law. When it is - this American will be moving to another country.

Some of you should think through a few things once in a while before just spouting off about how the government should change this and that to obtain your silly desired result. I mean #####, why not just pass a law that all Americans cannot leave their homes from January 1, to April 1. That should do it, huh?

Good post Buckstopshere! You guys want more laws! Be real carefull what you wish for. As for me, I gonna go find some sheds! BTW, I am going on public land where I pay taxes and have the freedoms to go hike around the mountains.
