Here is a buck I shot a couple years ago. Just thought I would share him with you guys. Shot him with my bow at 20 yards.

what a nice looking buck,brian.....got a story that you'd like to add? what state....keep the info coming

Im not much of a story teller,,,, but the buck was shot here in Idaho. I was on a Sept archery elk hunt when I spotted him. I put the sneek on this guy and got VERY LUCKY to get within 20 yard! Was crazy,, he had his head in a big brush pile thrashin on it and had no idea i was there! As I drew my bow he pulled his head out and looked at me,,,,, was to late......

I should add that the arrow in the pic was a gift to me from a friend. I was shooting a Crearwater compound at the time.

Thanks guys!! I was pretty proud of him! Was almost the best day of my life! we had already killed two bulls,, just had my elk tag to fill. My buddy LV called a bull in for me three hours after I shot this buck. I just couldnt get a shot on him. couldnt imagine if I would have killed a bull the same afternoon,,,,,

Brian, if you don't mind me asking, what is the unit where you shot that brute? I killed a buck this past year that has very similar genetics (deep forks, good mass, split G2/G3 on left side, not too wide, although yours looks a little wider than mine) to the one you posted and was curious as to whether they may have been from the same area? It's hard to tell from the picture you posted, but does the buck you killed have very strong front forks? I don't want to steal the post from you by posting the pics from my buck on this thread so send me your e-mail if you want and I will send you the pics from mine to compare.

They are just too similar not to have been from the same genetic pool.

Awesome buck. I thought you got him with that home made arrow at first. Congrats and thanks for sharing.
