South Cache Help

LAST EDITED ON Aug-12-15 AT 03:29PM (MST)[p]Ok guys, I am going to be that guy and see if anyone has any info on the South Cache unit. My dad got a call today from the DWR and was told that someone turned in their South Cache Muzzy Elk tag and we was next on the list. Scouting time is going to be limited as I have a Manti Expo Muzzy tag and already have plans for some scouting trips for that hunt. I have a friend whose dad has the early rifle and said he will help out as much as he can. But any advice that anyone has will be appreciated.

This is my dad who last year drew LE Muzzy tag, I am doing the write up for that hunt in my HAC Thread. So maybe going to Wendover is the best advice right now.

good antler growth this year. Scouting doesn't matter right now. All the bulls have started to move. Ephriams grave area will always be a good spot. I think the biggest bull of the year will come off of this unit this year.

He drew an LE Muzzy tag last year, and again this year..?? I'm pretty sure that's impossible. 5 year waiting period and all...

That said, you better choose which tag you're going to hunt. You won't be able to hunt both your Manti tag and his South Cache tag at the same time. Unless you're hunting separate. (I guess you could get lucky and kill one very early on either hunt and join one another on the remaining hunt).

Congrats to him. And to you on the Expo Tag. You won't need to worry about finding elk once the hunt is here. Its dead on for the rut to be in full swing this year.
