Wondering if anyone would be willing to share your hunting experience this year on the Wasatch. I have the muzzy tag and have been scouting my usual places but like everyone else, we all want to be as informed as possible.
1. Where did you hunt?
2. What did you see? Or not see?
3. What would you change?

I have experience in the past hunting the early rifle but not the muzzy. I liked the dates this year but my concern is how many deer hunters will be around?

I hope people are willing to share some info/ PM

I hunted the muzzy Wasatch West unit for deer last year. There were way more people than I expected for the muzzy hunt. It opened on Wednesday and was really busy thru the weekend. I hunted 3 days the next week and hardly saw anyone. Most people during the first half were all riding the roads. We never saw anyone more than 1/2 mile from a road, especially deep down in the elk canyons. I wouldn't expect much pressure on an elk hunt, at least for the area we were in (Hobble Creek/Diamond fork).

just got back from current creek seen a archery guy tag a nice bull and seen a few cows come out. the elk were talking and pushing cows already. on our way up Friday night seen a nice bull stopping traffic in the middle of a big opening right off the road with about 10 cows right next to the strawberry marina turnoff.all in all seen about 20 bulls there being active even with the warm weather

I wouldn't worry too much about the deer hunters. There are going to be a few around but if you're willing to hit it hard you can get away from them easy enough. We've been up there the last two years on the muzzy elk hunt and had no problem finding our own piece of real estate. You're in for a helluva good time and those dates are gonna be "Primo".

Heading up Friday for my dads rifle elk hunt. Excited to hear they're talking and getting a little more active. Wasn't much activity a week ago. I'd be happy to share our information once we're done hunting and open to any information anyone might have.
