I applied for unit 49 in CO for a high country muley hunt along with a couple of friends. This is our first attempt at this. Anybody have any information they are willing to share? Maybe a couple of starting points, things to avoid, etc.

It's always an adventure!!!

AWLB,

Buddy, the best advice I have is; take your good wife to the Caribbean first. She deserves it. This way you can come and go to Colorado as you please!;-)

Leadville is a beautiful town.

49 will give you plenty of above timberline muleys to chase and you are in S-12 Bighorn Sheep unit-overlap so you can see some nice Rams.

To bad it is draw for bow elk...dandy unit.

Sorry my friend. I was just talking? Oh what the hell, you will have fun and be worth every nickel!

You have a good wife, ya gotta take good care of her! :)

Jim I don't think I will be hunting around that time so if you need some-one to take your little sweetheart to the caribbean I guess I could do it for ya. Now it wouldn't be cheap but if you get a really big deer it will be worth it. Hope YOU enjoy going to the caribbean with your wife LOL.
I'm head off to Death Valley to look at flowers with my wife, so I can go Elk hunting in AZ later in the year, we all have to pay the piper, some guys bill is just higher then others.

AWLB,

Sorry my friend. Now look at what I have started. Gator's wife must have been listening in that day also?

You should have called ahead and had them planted Gator. I've been through Death Valley one time and I'm not sure I ever want to go again. Pretty desolate country. I haven't been there in the springtime though. I bet there is a pretty small window for blossoms down there.

It's always an adventure!!!
