Bulls of Summer Video

Here is my trail camera series I call the Bulls of Summer that I created this year. Later in the year got a shot at the last bull on the video. I miss judged the distance because of the extreme angle I was shooting (45 degrees). Looks like I will be buying a rangefinder with the true arch technology for next year.

Enjoy, HondoArcher

Great video. I have no idea how to score. The last bull on the video, what would he be roughly? I nearly hit a bull last night while driving that was larger body and a taller rack (6x6).

I'm not that good ad judging either but my feeling is about 310. Others on this forum could give us a better guess. Still I would have been very happy with him.

At this point I am still disappointed in the quality of the video on all the trail cameras that I own. The Browning camera has a lot of nice features packed in a small form factor but I was not impressed with the quality of the video or the sound. The Bushnell camera's are solid but they are price inhibitive. I can't afford them and defiantly can't afford to loose one. Putting them in a bear box to protect them only adds to the the weight I already have to carry. Someday someone will make a quality product at a reasonable price. We can only hope.

DW, What do you think he would score? I was a mess when I took a shot at him later on in the season. Missed him by inches.

I'm no expert either but I was thinkin he's pushin 330. A clean miss is the second best outcome. There's always next year, and he'll be a little bigger!

Yes the more I look at him the more impressed I am. It was a great hunt anyway. Just glad to get a chance at such an animal. Will cover the area with trail cams this next year to see if he or his brother made it through all the hunters and the winter. The cool thing is the cows and calves there swim at the local watering hole. It was a tremendous sight even at a mile away. I have some footage at the end of my 2015 Archery Pronghorn Antelope 80" P&Y DIY hunt showing them swimming. It is at the 19 minute mark.

Here is the video if you are interested:

Yes the video of the bull at the 4:20 mark was taken in 2012. Never saw him again on any of my trail cameras in the preceding years or in person when I hunted that unit. Got in a calling match with a bull the following year but never saw him. He sounded big though.

Thanks, HondoArcher
