Hello forum!

I am going up this weekend on a late bull hunt in unit 41. Was curious if anyone had any advice? I should be hunting already, but the weekend is the only time I can get away!

Any advice for a late bull elk hunt around that area would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

How did you do? My sister in law had a Nov tag down there last year. Saw a good number of elk and ended up shooting a good bull.

I have a friend that had the tag this year and said they didn't see much for quality bulls. I think unit 41 lags far behind unit 40 for quality and certainly well behind 44 and 45.

We had the buck tag. Hunted six days Nov 17-24th or so. There were only ten elk tags... but it seems everyone who draws brings every facebook buddy they have. The place is tore up with 4wheelers. I took video of some A-holes driving a canyon ridge in the Bruneau wilderness in two SxSs. Thinking about turning them in. D-bags rode right up to us..we had already walked in a couple miles...so pissed I coulda launched them buggies right off the edge for them ##"%&%'s! They would drive the edge, take a shot to scare anything up, then keep going..drinking that good ol bud light.

There were 4wheelers everywhere. People camped in every canyon. One dufus drug his camper up high and camped in a bottom, only a couple miles from the Nevada border. Got an early heavy snow and the guy apparently decided to leave his camper, but while coming out slid his truck off the road and it was (unfortunately) stopped by some trees. That sucker stayed there till this spring for sure.

But that's the type you're dealing with in 41. Boneheads and rednecks. Just when you think you've got away from everything some elmer fud pops up on a 4wheeler saying " Hey dere.. You see any elk around here?"

Don't forget that on top of the 10 tags for bulls, there are another 100 or so cow tags given to landowners, and they give them to their buddies, and don't even think they stay on the PP. No cops Lots of guys around for what you think would be a bit if seclusion. The hunt really needs motorized restrictions.
