Northern Deer

Has anyone seen or been looking up in the logan area recently to see how the bucks or deer in general are?

Went on a hike last saturday east of where we fed this winter and was happy to only find 5 dead deer. The grass is coming up good and the deer looked to be in good shape.

I have seen areas in the valley with alot of dead deer in them though. The mouth of Blacksmith Fork has quite a few, maybe some road-kill, I've heard about some other areas with alot of winter-killed animals, but for the most part I think they came through in pretty decent shape. I hope so anyways.

I've seen 20 or so dead on the hillside through Sardine Canyon. I think the winter hit them hard but still seeing good numbers of survivors.

Thats better news than i was thinking. So thanks guys i live in Utah County and hunt up there with some really good freinds so i dont have much time to go up to see how the deer made it through the winter. Although i do tons if scouting in the mid to late summer to see how the horn growth is coming and that will tell me how many of the big bucks servived. Thanks again!
