I would like to hunt public or private land and need a reputable outfitter to enter drawing with. Does anyone have some good past experiences with outfitters.

Another vote for http://www.newmexicobiggamehunting.com/hunts/public-land-hunts.

Jim Wells is as honest and straight shooting as a man can be. I highly recommend him.

Another vote for San Francisco River Outfitters. Tom Klumker is a good guy and runs a good elk camp. Also, even though I haven't hunted through him, I've heard nothing but good about Jim Wells. I'd personally use him if I were looking for what he offers.

Jim and Kelly Wells have done a great job for me and a bunch of friends over the years, Hoping to go with them again real soon.
Top Notch in the guided hunts or outfit sponsored hunts they do both.

I will put a plug in for hornreapers outfitters. A smaller operation, but real tuned in to getting after the big ones.

>Check out Beaverhead Outfitters.

Wherever you decide, check there reference's. Talk to hunters that have been there before and try to talk to the guys that were not successful and ask them why they weren't. Going on a guided by no means guarantee's success so see how the unsuccessful hunters experience was. There are good outfitters and guides for the Gila and some that aren't so good. Do your research.

505 OUTFITTERS! My husband and I have shared awesome hunts with Pete Vigil and his crew check them out on the New Mexico page they offer a variety of hunts and packages.

I'll stand by my recommendation of Beaverhead. I will say this. The internet doesn't always tell the full story. That and sometimes you run into a client that is well lets say less then desirable and "somewhat" hard to please. We had a great experience in 2014 with Beaverhead. But I'm sure you can find good and bad on about any outfitter out their with the interweb these days.

Tom @ SFRO is great for the Gila.
PM me for info elsewhere in NM.
I know a couple real good ones.
Know many bad ones......
