Wyoming Elk Hunt Units (Type 9 Archery Only)

Hello everyone! My family has been going to Wyoming for almost 7 years now to hunt Elk with bows. There are 3 of us planning on going to Wyoming this year as group and we have a combined average of 5.0 Preference Points. We was considering burning our points for the first time this year. We have been wanting to hunt unit 38 for quite some time, but I've read a lot of people say that area is crowded. Also, it doesn't appear we will draw that unit this year with 5.0 average. We was considering unit 40 or 41 this year. The harvest and success rates are pretty impressive! In the past we have been drawing General Tags and hunting Unit 89 (Greys River) as our Second Option, but we didn't draw last year due to an abundance of people choosing General tags as 1st option. We really want to hunt Wyoming this year and that's why we are considering burning our points so we can go hunt and we hate to burn them on a General tag of a place we have been going for years. Does anyone have any personal experiences with unit 40 or 41 or anywhere in the Big Horns? Or have another unit that with a 5.0 average there is a good chance to draw with a great previous experience. We aren't road hunters and don't mind hiking in a few miles to drag out a trophy bull, we are horn hunters not meat hunters. Thanks for any advice, it will be greatly appreciated!

Well we had done quite a bit of research just thought we would ask for advice from others before we committed to particular unit. We actually had a few days to go when I posted this post. Thanks to multiple members and their genorous help, we went with Unit 40. Hope we draw!
