So my streak was broken and I didn't draw in CO, and I am trying to figure out what happens next. I put in for the leftover draw, but don't know if there will be many leftover tags available. When will they let us know what there is, and what is the turnaround time on the leftover draw? Thanks for any info.

Daxter....I spoke to the nice gentleman at the CDOW today and after he told me I did not draw :( he told me that the leftover list comes out around 3rd week of July and go on sale 1st part of August. Sorry about your luck. I am starting to wonder what the heck it takes to get a CO tag. Oh well, at least I will have 4 Pref Points for next year.

The backdoor method. Go to the website like your going to buy a habitat stamp and it will tell you whether or not you need to based on whether you have drawn or not.

Somebody needs to rename that method of finding out one's draw results, LOL!!

Anyway Daxter on your application did you check the box to have CDOW send you a leftover list if you did not draw? If you did you will receive a list in the mail with another app that you can send in and you get 1st crack at the leftovers before they go on sale in August. The list usually comes around the end of June.
Yes there is a lot of leftover licenses.

Yeah, the "backdoor method" could probably use a different name. Thanks for the info, I guess I will be patient and wait for my leftover list to arrive.

Dax,

I know this will piss half this board off, but have you heard of tag pimps?;-) Get the best units and seasons without drawing.

Yeah, I have spoken with a couple of "landowner tag purchase facilitators", but those tags are out of my price range. Last year they wanted $800 for a tag that could be drawn every year as a first choice. I got greedy and applied for a point first choice and assumed I would get my tag as a second choice and didn't. When I shopped around for landowner tag prices they wanted $800 or more. Add the $300 for the tag and you are looking at more than I can justify spending for the unit I wanted to hunt. This year I put in for a new hunt hoping I would have enough points. I didn't, and also struck out on my second choice. I think I will hunt OTC in Idaho instead.

Dax,

Yeah, it can get pricey. Just stirring the pot a bit. I would not write off the voucher possibility though. You may get lucky and find something very reasonable? They should be for sale very soon. I also think if you can find a voucher directly from a LO that may help price? Idaho should be good too. Either way good luck and I won't try to stir the pot in your thread.;-)
