I'm looking for pics of the country and bucks alive or dead in the Book Cliffs.

I know... kind of a cheap fix but hey... I'll take what I can get!

I won't get to scout, just show up the day before the hunt and saty for about 10 days.

Thanks,

MS

Nice!

Thanks for the pics guys.

Dallan, I replied to the PM... that was Awesome!

Anybody have good archery pics? Summer velvet bucks? I've worn out the photo gallery here.

Thanks again Guys

Here's the buck my wife took out there last year. Not too bad considering the short amount of time we had. He's 25" wide.

Some may think it's kinda ugly with just the pj forest and sagebrush, but I think it's rather pretty out there........

LAST EDITED ON Jun-21-08 AT 12:59PM (MST)[p]The majority of the pictures posted here are very representative of what you're likely to see in the Bookcliff's......lots of willow horned, crab-clawed 20" - 26" three and four points. I know a couple of guys who burned a lot of points to hunt the Bookcliffs last year who were sorely disappointed in what they saw, but I hope you have better luck than they did.

If it were me and I had 10 days off work, I'd spend two or three days scouting before the opener and the remainder of the time hunting...YMMV

If you only have 10 days, wouldn't it be wiser to spend it during the season? Why take time off to not shoot a deer?

Thanks a bunch folks! I really apprecate the pics and advice. There are a few of you aut there sending P/Ms and phone calls with priceless nfo... THANK YOU!

I want to make the most of this tag... that is not limited to only killing the biggest buck in the uniit. I hunt hard here in the Mountains of Colorado. I't will be a nice break to have a chance at taking a buck in more forgiving country and a nice big camp, just soaking up the whole experience. If I can't whack a toad early on and I end up in a situation to take a lesser buck, then this may be the perfect opportunity to finally get a kill with my recurve.

Again, thanks and keep the pics coming. Especially the ones of the scenery. Anyone have pics of the upper divide road country?

Thanks,

Marc

I've spent some time in the books and really like the country. Here are a few photos I took up there last year. All of the pictures of the bucks below were taken on the same day.

Here's a picture of my buck from the 2007 rifle hunt. I heard the last few days of the hunt were best but I couldn't pass this guy up opening morning. Good luck on your hunt!

Here is the buck that WACKANDSTACK's wife took, he asked me to post them here:6x9 30" scores 215"

WOW! one day like shelby's and I think I would be satisfied for the rest of my life. Once I finally draw my limited entry elk tag I think I know where I am going to put in for after I take a 300" bull.

Here is a Pic of my "Mistake" Buck from last year.

By the way,
I live in UT.
There are a lot of UTARDS that live here.
I have also seen quite a few WYOMORONS, NEVADUHNS, COLORADORKS, ID-IOTS and AIRHEADZONANS in my travels.

Heck yes I did!

Great pics everyone. I am some kind of pumped. Thank you all to everyone who took the time to post.

I leave Friday for my Bighorn sheep hunt here in CO, then I head over to the Books on the 15th. Can't wait. I'll post pics as soon as I get back.

These are the two bucks that my dad and uncle took in 05. The second buck is my dads bucks and he is 28 1/2 wide and gross scores in the low 190s. My uncle shot his on the last day but passed on bigger deer. His was right at 29 wide but not a very good scoreing buck. There are more big bucks in the book cliffs than most guys think.

Should be a fun hunt out there this year. I have seen some bigger, but guys like these are a dime a dozen. Photos taken last week.

Nice pics guys! Love the summertime recent pics!

Just in from 10 days of sheep hunting here in CO! Never nocked an arrow, saw rams everyday just never the right opportunity. Really looking forward to some quality time on the Books! Then back to sheep hunting.
