Hi Everyone,

After several years of putting in for a LE bull elk tag I finally drew a Pilot Mountain tag.

Looking to see if anyone has hunted the Pilot Mountain range (Utah/Nevada) over the past few years.

What did you see, what luck did you have, any recommendations on where to look, camp, fish, etc.

I found an old post back around 2008 but would like some updated info if people would be willing to share.

I'll be out scouting over the next few weeks - any 411 on where to look would be great.

Posts or PMs greatly appreciated

Many thanks,

Woody

You better be in excellent shape, there are no roads to get you in to where the elk are. There are no honey holes out there. The elk run that whole range and I've seen some great bulls above 10,000 feet in the rocks. If you put in the time, you will harvest a nice bull, but it's not going to be fast and easy. Glassing will be your greatest advantage, be up high at first light and be ready to cover some ground.

Hi 338BucknBull,
It is desolate. Have you hunted out there? If so what class of animal did you harvest?
