That's an awesome bull congrats to all involved. How long though until people start sitting back from their trophy a good 60 yards to make the animal look bigger. You can't even see the hunter. that has watch out we want our outfitters name all over this bull.

Yes, this was shot by the woman. I think the bull is Giant, but I also think that is an awesome angle, with or without the people in the pic. Good looking bull no matter what. Dream bull for me.

I do have to say I'm not a fan of the sitting way behind the animal for hero shots. It's been getting worse in the last few years. It's like when someone catches a 24 inch rainbow and holds it out with straight arms and calls it a 36 incher for the pictures. Regardless that's a monster bull and congrats to the hunter.

It's a beautiful bull but the picture doesn't do it justice. The wide angle lense pictures are used to make animals look large but sometimes make people question the reality. You can see the start of the pic is about 2" in front of the bulls face. Honestly makes it hard to tell if it's a 350 bull or a 404 bull. He's a beauty though

I was shown a trail cam pic of this bull by someone who has a rifle tag a few weeks ago. Does not surprise me that he went over 400.

Congrats to the hunter.

I guess it's a good thing that the rifle hunter has a lot of good back up bulls.

That's a great bull for sure. I agree with others here, if it's a big bull, then it's a big bull. No need to sit in the next county for pics to make him look even bigger. Lousy picture, great bull. Congrats to the Hunter.

I was like, no way on that score for this one. Then I started adding things up. My conservative calc was 396. Eating crow and sending congrats all the way around !!!

Would love to hear the story on how it was found and harvested

Cheers,
Pete

What a stud! I was too busy looking at a giant bull to notice or care about where the people were in the picture.

I'm with u....no way at first look I thought that bull would go 400.
Great bull congrats to hunter

Here we go again! It's Elk season and They're all 400 inch Bulls. I think there's actually like 12 from Utah that's actually in the book. Not to take away from such a nice bull, he's a stud, and I congratulate the hunter, but by the time you deduct that 7th point and the symmetry that bull won't even hit minimum B&C. Maybe someone should start a new scoring system that actually has a gross score system, outside of SCI.

yeah, I would of passed him up too... :)

Last year I shot a bull on the Boulder that I thought was 370 max.... I was elated to say the least, score didnt matter... I had my bull offically measured at 381 Gross... 62" of mass 58" beams not an overly impressive front end...

Having said that, I guarantee that bull is all of what they are saying it is... Pics and make any animal look more or less than what they are... That is a trophy I would love to see in person...

Congrats to all involved!

Hogg... Thanks for the invitation but I reserve the right from the MM crowd casting a shadow over something that was to good to have someone get on there high horse and make some dumb*ss comment. All I can say is I hope to be able to hunt that special place again. Whether it be my tag or someone elses...

P.M. me and maybe we can figure something out.

Ford you're a quick learner, it took me a few hundred posts to learn that no matter what you post someone from this forum will crap in your cheerios. MM is known for it, that's why I generally spend more time on rokslide and hunt talk. I respect you for your decision not to post your critters.

Dont get me wrong bones, I really do enjoy the MM crowd... They have entertained me for a lot of years. Ive especially enjoyed those who do chose to post pics of their trophys. The banter does get a little out of hand at times, but it is the cost of admission. Its fun to see the diversity of sportsman and their point of views. Heck Ill even admit that I have learned a lot, it has refined my perspective/views on numerous topics.

Back to the main topic though, how about that bull! I hope they choose to display it at the expo next year. Favorite part of the show is walking around and admiring all the beautiful trophys...

Donna was showing me all the pics on her phone not too long ago, and when she got to the wide angle shot she laughed. She was almost embarrassed at the picture, saying that the lens made it look way bigger. Having seen all the pictures I think its a very impressive bull. It's true the net score will take a hit but 400" of bone is a great bull no matter where the inches are.

Officially 406 gross. Not posting this to call anyone out (Im too much a newb to do that) but while I can still look at the pics of this bull and have trouble finding 400+, the second you see it in person you realize how big it is. Congrats to Donna & Ryan @ DC_Outfitters. Unreal. Gonna miss seeing this guy alive.

The only thing about the first pic was I couldn't tell how big the bull really was. Subsequent pics has me saying "damnation"!
Congrats to all on a huge trophy bull!
