Anyone ever hunted this area? Drew the first rifle hunt. Anything's helpful.

i have never been there but i put it for my third choice hunt and got it its the late bow season though so you can tell what its like i will be making a few scouting trips there so i will keep you in touch

I would try the florida mtns, or get down low where the stock tanks are and hunt them .... those deer gotta drink somewhere in that desert. Riley ranch maybe

I huted the IbeX hunt last year on the floridas and we only saw one buck on the south end in the low lands ther has to be a bigger population to hunt than there. If I had that tag i would spens some time scouting around hachita or West of Las Cruces there are some rolling hills west of LC that are close to the Rio grande and will hold higher pop. but check both areas
