I have a friend of mine who is 70 this year and wants to go on a trophy mule deer hunt he is looking for an opportunity to harvest a 200 inch buck ,he is getting up in age and wants to do it this year if he can ,please give me some referrals to only reputable outfitters with guranteed tags .
The hunt can be in any state rifle or muzzleloader only.

Thanks and Safe hunting

How deep are his pockets? Since all the drawings are done, you are looking at purchasing a landowener tag for a hard to draw unit or hunting a private ranch with landowner tags. And there are people paying $10,000 who don't get a shot at a 200 buck. I think he should have a goal that high, but if that is all he will take, he may be dissapointed. Sorry, I can't help you with specifics, I am sure there are others that can, but get ready to pull out the checkbook.

I Know he expects to pay top dollar, as that is not a problem

just doesnt want to go on average hunt again and be dissapointed.

Thanks

I doubt there are any openings for our trophy mule deer hunts for this season, we usually have a 2-3 year waiting.
But give Kim or Trevor a call and see if there are any cancellations you may get in on.
We have several leases with this caliber of deer on them, but NEVER go expecting to bring one home.....your paying for an "opportunity" only.

Tell your friend to call jim shockey for january hunt in sonara mexico. he will have an excellent chance at a 200 inch mule deer. look at his web site pics man they are killing some pigs!!! down there. plus he could get a left over tag here in the states because there rut aint till january. the down side is $10,000 for the hunt.

A reputable outfitter in Sonora would be my rec also. Odds of a 200" mule deer are slim anywhere, but better in Sonora than anywhere I know of. I've been there twice and killed a net 205" typical myself.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-16-08 AT 04:03PM (MST)[p]Call Lee McNary at Alberta River Valley Lodge and check out his website/gallery at www.rivervalleylodge.com.

His hunters took a 226 and 218 non typical last year and a couple at 200. I took a 191 with a 11" droptine and seen four toads afterwords that broke 200".
