Alaskans needing OTC archery help.

I'm thinking of trying to find a decent OTC archery season for mulies to hunt between October 15th-21st or Nov. 12th-18th. Started doing research to get an idea of cost of general season tags in different states and what not, but so many holes left to fill.

I'm asking cause I'm thinking of taking my younger bro for our first out of Alaska hunt. Thought about doing the treestand thing the midwest, but would much rather hit the high country. These dates are pretty solid as we both work shift work. We aren't really look for any monsters just a chance to do some hunting outside of the state of Alaska as everything for big game is almost closed for us during this time and we'd like to try and back a muley or two. Bucks or Does do not really matter. Just looking for a place we decent access and don't have to worry about private property. Which I hear can be pretty big problem down there. Of course all I hear is the horror stories from folks that move up here to Alaska about the lower 48 being locked down and not many open areas to hunt. We'll be renting a car where ever we fly into to get to our hunting area and buying a cooler once we get there for the meat. Hoping to stay in tents the majority of the time as to not to pay for hotels to help keep costs down.

Basically looking to narrow down some areas to research as this looks like a huge mountain of info to weed through. Thanks for any help.
Feel free to PM me any info as well.

Looks like you have a long break off once a month. What about going one month later? Idaho Unit 55 has an OTC archery hunt for mulies from Nov. 25 to Dec. 19th. Pretty good rut hunt, lots of BLM access, and you can fly Alaska Air into Boise and rent a 4WD to go over to it (about 2 hours). Food and lodging in the smaller areas around Burley is reasonable also.

About $150 for license, $250 for tag. Have to have the archery permit validation, and the non-resident tag quota would apply. You would have to buy before Aug. 28th, or the NR tags are available to residents. They don't last long after that!

I'm sure there are some MM members here who could point you in the right direction.
