I am hunting third season elk in Colorado with my father he is 76 years old now he doesn't hike the hills that good anymore looking for a new spot around the Meeker Rangeley Craig area that I can take him where he might be able to see some elk and maybe get a shot or two off at them any help would be appreciated

LAST EDITED ON Oct-22-16 AT 07:54AM (MST)[p]Please post his full name, his address, and phone number. As basically a first time poster, you are asking for some intimate hunting details as someone we don't know. So we need some intimate details to verify you are not pulling our chain. It is too easy on the internet to say: "My aging father, my young daughter, I have cancer............"

If you really want good intel on websites like this, hang around, spend some time, develop some relationships. Just MHO. Irregardless, hope you have some luck on your hunt

There is no easy elk hunting. Unless it is on private land.

NW of Craig, some of the locals like to sit in their PUs...sometimes w/the motor running and watch for migrating herds and then they try to move to where they are ahead of them...in the rolling hills.

This only works when there is snow in the high country.

Other than that, I have no ideas...and I don't really know their migration routes.
