Packing Right?

This will be my first year backpacking in the mountains. I just packed my Dwight Schuh Mega Pack to start excercising and shooting with it on. It's a good thing my step-son is going with me, cuz I've got no room for food. I packed basically the list Cameron Hanes suggesteed in his book. Am I taking too much(which I can't think of anything to remove), or what? Is this normal to be jam packed for a 6 day trip? Thanks for the help.

I will be going on a 12 day backpack hunt and I have packed it up with everything I am taking. Not including my gun and binos my pack weighs 45 pounds. I plan on having it weigh more than that coming out though. Are you packing too much clothes maybe?

I don't know what you're taking, but I agree with Marley....except for socks, clothes are often over carried. Need sleeping bag, some kind of tent shelter, food, water filter, fire....I can get by with about 40 pounds, too.

You hope you need to carry two deer back out.

Within the shadows, go quietly.
