I've been up about twice a week during the last month. Here are a few pics of some notable deer. I cant seem get them to sit still so I can take qualtiy pics thru the spotting scope.

I really like this deer but he is in a spot where I dont think I will be able to hunt him due to private land. He has about a 190" main with 3 stickers. Pictures dont do the buck justice but he got my heart going when I seen him so I knew he was good.

This buck is decent. Its hard to see in the picture but he has a crowned point extra on the left rear fork.

A big profiled three point. Definatly a deer I would consider the last weekend. If the season doesnt go as planned, I will have to do my part to help herd quality and take a big 3 instead of a average 4pt.

Great Bucks - Here's a similar buck I've been watching here in Colorado this summer. He has a mid to upper 170's frame and approx. 16" of extras and in-lines.

I think he's in trouble - Thanks for sharing.

I did the same thing, but we are different sides of the state - still kinda caught me off guard though. Good Luck this fall, hope you get access to your big guy. Who knows, maybe he'll make mistake and cross a fence - there's always a chance.

I dont know what part of the state you guys are in, but has anyone been scouting anywhere around Meeker or Rangely? How do the Deer numbers look in comparison to the last couple years? I know that the deer usually winter better than in Gunnison, and Eagle areas, but all the winter kill talk and the large reduction in tags by the DOW has made me a little nervous. Thanks for any info.

Deer in their summer coats and still fattening up always look scrawny (scientific term.) Plus, the bucks get swollen necks during the rut.
