What are your goals for the hunt? How high are your expectations? I haven't scouted much this year. Here is a buck I found last weekend in a heavily hunted area. If I find him on opening day, I think I will try for him.

Hopefully I can arrow a buck with my son close by to experience the hunt. I am very much looking forward to a weekend in cooler temps with the family. I haven't taken many animals with my bow. This being my second year dedicated, I'm rerally getting the itch for a fuzzy antlered buckie. But if I can't can't make it happen on a deer like the one above...I'll hold off the trigger.

Good luck to all. Hunt safe and have fun!

If that's a general season unit, then you DEF. shoot either of those bucks. That's if you don't feel like hunting the extended archery season. I would let one fly at either of those probably even if it was opening day.

You are doing better than me and I'm a dedicated hunter.I changed areas this year.Went from central unit to south eastern unit.We have property on the south eastern unit so I thought I would give it a try.Nothing much in the area but a few good bulls witch I don't have a tag for.All the deer are way up on the top or down feeding out of the fields.I hope there is more action around my tree stand by the end of the month. If it keeps raining everyday I should have a good chance with my stand being over a water hole.I wish everybody the best of luck this year and be safe.

Pretty good bucks eh! My hopes dropped a little bit after i've been scouting this year and not seen too much. I don't know if they're high, low, or just anywhere around water. I've tried looking in all three places and i've seen a couple shooters, but not as many as years past. All the DWR's reports say the numbers are about the same as last year, but i'm still waiting to see them. I would definately take a whack a one of those buck this year.

My scouting (utah, north region) has come up WAY short of what i was hoping for.....
but my stardards haven't dropped! If i dont find a buck of the caliber i would shoot in a good year, then i especially wont shoot a lesser buck when they need a couple of recovery years.

I'll be up there hunting hard, hoping for the best, but i am not afraid of tag soup. just my 2 cents.
