Ive been seeing a lot of bucks while scouting for a tag I have. I came across this buck and I cant decide what he scores and if I should consider him a shooter. I think he would be a no brainer next year but what do you guys think. He has got me confused.

Are you serious man. I'd shoot him in a second. Nice buck.

Depends on the unit. I agree, give him 2 years but there are a few units I know of where that deer is 20" bigger than you could ever hope of harvesting! EASY for us to speculate but tough fore the tag holder! Good luck.

Everything you need to hunt AZ unit 12A!

Wow...a 200"+ deer. Shoot! Please post some pictures after the hunt. Would love to see him up close.
Good Luck

Exactly, give him two more years and he probably won't be around! I could never pass up a buck like that. Sure he may get bigger but will you find him again? Will he survive the winter or other hunters?

I think I will have to pass on him for most of the season. I might change my mind the last weekend or if I cant find 3 other bucks I've been watching.

I seen him again this morning and while I really like him he doesn t have the 'WOW' factor. He needs a bigger main frame even though its around 170-180 this year.

Who knows,I may being showing pictures of this buck and eating crow at the end of the season.

Man if you have killed a bunch of bucks with your bow that go over 180, I would say you could justify not shooting. I say he looks like a shooter, great genes.

I came up with a guess of 200 gross based on a 180 main frame plus 6' for brows, 8" of right side stickers and 7" crown point on the left. But I can sure be off. Have been before. :)

I'm not a scoring expert but there is no way that buck is 200".

If it's an archery tag sure but if its rifle and you're seeing alot of nice bucks why not let him go? He's not an absolute monster, he's a nice buck but heck there's alot bigger out there. That's my thought.

I am no scoring expert either, but I would guess 180- 185 gross? He has some extras to get him up there, but not 200.

The more I look at him the more I think you guys are closer to the score than me. Still think he'll gross 190 with the extras. Us poor Texans just don't get to look at that many 170+ deer. :) If it was me, he would hit the dirt.

I'm probably getting a little buck fever. Dang, is it hunting season yet? How come the 3 months of summer seem 6 months long and the 3 months of fall seem like one.

If you don't shoot him, someone else will. If you have bigger bucks stashed away, then let him go. If not, it sure will be sad to have those pictures and an unfilled tag come december.

I just want to be friends.

LE unit Id have a hard time passing but probably would. General season no questions asked Id shoot.
