7 am opening morning

opening morning found a buddy and me high on a ridge where we have been watching several good bucks for several weeks. as luck would have it, so too were a few others. with a little discussion we dicided to move to the next basin and wouldn't you know it, i tripped on something and my knee happened to find a rock. it was just after 7 and i have a new hole an my knee. i thought "its just a little scrape" so we just kept going. after about 6 hours of glassing and 1 unsuccessful stalk, it was time to head back to the top of hte mountain. after sitting sor so long, it seeems my knee started to stiffen up, and after further evaluation, i decided to head ou to hte doc while i could still walk. the usual 1 1/2 hour hike out took nearly 4 1/2 hours. at the quick care, i found out how good the hole is. with only 2 stitches to close the top of the skin, and alot of ibuprofen i'll be ready to head out again on monday. hopefully it will go better than opening morning. (and i won't be such a cluts).....

who else has hap misshaps that have made you miss the opening weekend?

Sorry to hear you had such a bad time. Geese those pictures made me week in my knees just looking at them.

Hope you can turn the rest of the season around for the better.

Been there done that. Mine was a motorcycle popping out from under me. Put a nice 3/4 inch hole in my knee cap when it hit the rock. My knee got stiff, real stiff, probably the most pain I've ever endured. So I feel for you. Hope you are back to normal asap so you don't miss out on the hunt. Good luck.

If I hadn't been wearing a harness I might have got a helicopter ride from my treestand location. I didn't get hurt at all, but it would have been 15 feet down into rocks without the harness. Hanging treestands should be an olympic sport!

Just4fun I never seem to forget a MM screen name.

I only met you once but you really seemed like a great guy. I for the life of me can't remember your name or your buddies name you were hunting with up their. Could you pm me your name and your buddies name again?

Also you had told me you had videoed or had possible taken pictures of the buck I took. I would like to know if I could either buy or have. It would really mean a lot to me. I was only able to video this buck on one occasion and I would like to have more or possible better video clips/pictures.
