We just got back from my Dad and Sister's Book Cliffs Archery hunt. Obviously the hunt ended pretty early, but both my Dad and Sister took great bucks.
My Sister shot her buck 9 minutes into the hunt @ 6:41 AM with a perfect 30 yard shot. We talked about holding out and not shooting the first buck she saw, but this was actually the 2nd buck she saw We had seen a lot of deer in this area during our scouting and they were right back in the same spot as before. There was another 4 point with this buck, but we liked the character of this one and Tenille wanted him so we let her shoot and she drilled him with a perfect lung shot at 30 yards. He ran maybe 20 yards and tipped over. The buck has an extra on his left side and has really good mass and cool eyeguards. Great job Tenille on an awesome archery buck!!
My Dad shot his great buck on Saturday as well. We were headed to glass a ridge for bedded bucks during midday and happened to stumble onto this buck around 12:20 in the afternoon. He was in some really thick oak brush, but Dad was able to put a great sneak on the buck and shot him at 12 yards with a frontal shot. The buck ran towards Dad and then circled and died within 10 yards of where he was shot. This buck was definitely one of the best pure 4 points we saw on the hunt and has great forks, mass, and tine length. Great job Dad on your dream buck!! He is a beautiful archery buck!
What do you think he scores?
The Two bucks together:
Good luck to everyone else on your hunts!!!
