This is my 2008 Utah Limited Entry Archery buck that I killed Saturday (Opening Day) out on the West Desert Vernon unit. He's about 26" wide and about 18-20 tall. He was missing a few teeth and the rest were almost worn down to the gum. Prob a 7-8 yr old deer. Biggest bodied deer I have ever been fortunate enough to take. Awesome hunt and an awesome experience. Taxidermist said he should be big enough to book, but who cares cause he's a trophy to me. I couldn't really get any field photos. I was alone and killed him about 20 minutes before dark. My wife took some pictures when I got home about 2 am. Anyway here's some pics I hope you guys enjoy....

THE ONLY bobcat THAT KNOWS ALOT OF YOU HAVE HAD THIS IMAGE IN YOUR PEA BRAIN BUT DUE TO POOR SHOOTING TACTICS I'M STILL KICKIN!!!

Very Nice!! I bowhunted Vernon in 1992 and had the opportunity to hunt rifle there last year. It can be a tough unit to bowhunt. You did well.

Nice buck, and a great shot!!! The hunt ended early, but you tagged a really nice buck. How was the scouting in this unit. Did you see alot of nice bucks. I have heard that there is a couple hogs out there this year!!!

Yea there's some dandy's out there. I stalked to about 80 yds. on a trashy 6x6 before 2 littles spikes busted me. I was pretty happy with my buck. There's bigger bucks out there but I sure couldn't pass up a 15 yd shot on this guy. Thanks everyone for the compliments I really apreciate them! And good luck to everyone the rest of the season. Swbuck- that sure was a dandy that you took as well! Congrats.

By the way,
I live in UT.
There are a lot of UTARDS that live here.
I have also seen quite a few WYOMORONS, NEVADUHNS, COLORADORKS, ID-IOTS and AIRHEADZONANS in my travels.

Nice work and nice shot

Hey Barry it's nice to hear from you man! Congrats to you guys as well for a successful season. Yea it's sure nice to meet people out on a unit that have worked just as hard or harder than you have preparing for a hunt. It was sure nice to meet you and Todd and I'm glad we both had a great hunt. Yea I'll get the wife started on putting in out there next year. Hey, I wish you guys all the good times and luck on that CO elk hunt, that should be a blast! Once again it was nice meeting you guys and tell Todd I said great job as well. Take it easy.

Hey that's a dandy buck especially with a bow out in Vernon, that's a hard area to hunt with a bow...awesome. I drew a rifle tag out there this year and I've been scouting quite a bit and I've seen some hogs, actually last Sat I saw two bucks that were over 28 inches at about 50 yards. Where were you exactly? On the front or back side of the mountains? I'm just curious, where I've been scouting I haven't seen many bowhunters, only one so far..

Here is my email address: [email protected]. I'd be willing to exchange the areas I know also.
