heres my 08 archery buck was a awesome hunt and stock. I first found this deer at 330 yards and me and two buddies watched for about 5 minutes and made are game plan. With the wind perfect we made are stock.I came in just above a big three point and had to stand motionless for about 25 minutes and I was just about to draw back when this 29 inch 4 point walked out into view I had just seconds to make my decision, but it was easy at 30 yards I layed the smack down on this great buck. He is 29 wide and scores 186. After capeing him my hunting buddy that was not able to hunt with me that day came all of 4 miles to help get my trophy of the mountain, what better hunting buddy can you have, thanks garett and tyson and jeff.

Congrats! Nice looking buck indeed! Making all if us drool over the pictures for sure! Looks like a Nevada Archery Buck? Lots of toads being taken this year!

You got a heck of a buck, sure makes it nice when it all comes together in a flash, He going to look great on your wall.

On-Target,

Congrats, I would have to agree with you, that was one of the best hunts I have ever been on.

By the way boys that is a Utah Buck.

Just minutes (1 maybe 2) after On-Target shot this buck I missed its twin. I shot over its back about 2 inches but it ducked my string about 8 inches. I had him dead and we would have been packing 2 twiners off the mountain if......

It was a great hunt and you couldn't ask for better buddies to hunt with. Gerrett your the MAN making the 4 mile trip in with the frame pack and helping us take it out the 4 miles.

Jeff

Nice buck! There has been some nice bucks taken this year in Utah. Some are LE Units and some Regular permits.

Knockemdead

I call BS if you killed those bucks in Utah. We all know there are no big bucks in Utah unless you have a LE tag.;-)

Archery is a year round commitment!!

Utah Public Land DIY hunt.

Thats the way we do it. Expecially since my luck at drawing anything is about 100% bad.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-27-08 AT 09:46AM (MST)[p]Public land DIY BS there are no big bucks on public land in utah it must have been privite land.

If we want to kill bucks like that we need to make it so we only draw a tag once every 10 years.

this is a general unit tag lots of years in the hills and lots of miles on my boots. I've seen quite a few bucks like this on general units takes a lot of time and work. I've never drawn a le tag

AWESOME BUCK!!!!!!!!!! Way to go On_target! It is about time all of your hard work and dedication paid off. I couldn't be more excited for you than I am right now. I will never forget that phone call that I got last saturday from you saying "dude your not going to believe this but a just shoot a really big buck" How big? "He is 28" and I think he might go 170 maybe 175?" So needless to say 3 hours later and 4 mile hike with the pack frame, I finally lay eyes on your buck and the only thing that I could say way he is alot bigger than 175"! Then the look on your face was priceless. I still think Jeff and I are more excited about this buck than U. Just kidding. Just glad I could be a part it! Definetly a day I will not forget. Congrats BUD!!!!!!

You certainly lived up to your name on that buck. Congrats. That is an awesome buck.

Congrats on a really great buck, thanks for showing him off, love the spread.

thanks to all who commented and left kind words and excitment for someone who has the chance to harvest a truely wnderful animal. I wish all of you the best of luck with any hunts coming up soon, hopefully we will see your bucks and bulls or whatever you hunt. Thanks again on_target.

What a great accomplishment. Its tuff enough to find a buck of that quality, let alone pull off a successful stalk and make the shot. Good job and thanks for sharing the story.
