Idaho's unit 67??

Looking to rent horses and go into the palisades peak area of unit 67 for the first time. General deer tag rifle hunt. Considering a bull elk tag also. Be foolish to get back in there and see a great bull without the opportunity to take a crack at him. Anyone out there with experience in the area?? Good deer #'s???

Non resi. couldn't getaway to scout the area.

Referal on Biologist for the area would be appreciated too.

I tried that hunt last year thinking it would be good for deer, I think you'd have better luck getting an elk.

I didn't see very many deer but saw a few elk (and a lot of elk hunters!).

Anywhere there are trails there are lots of hunters in the Palisades. I went bird hunting west of Pine Creek Pass on Monday. It was an ATV convention! On my way back home (Teton Valley) there were convoys of trucks with ATV's on the pass.

I'm hearing that unit got hammered with winter kill this year. Coming from a guy who hunts it regularly and has been in there this year already with a moose tag. Just and FYI.
