This past weekend was awesome with three great hunting friends. I backpacked into Colorado with Matt Bateman, Brad Roberts and his Dad, Kent Roberts. We spent the next three days chasing Mule deer in the steepest roughst high elevation stuff I have ever seen. I ended killing my buck at over 12,500ft elevation!!! But Brad and Matt both almost killed sweet bucks too. Came SOOOO close, but an awesme hunt with great guys! My buck goes 25" wide and rought scores 178 gross and 175 net. Pretty exciting time. I hope you all enjoy the pics and Matt, Brad and Kent: Thanks for an awesome and fun hunt!!! Let's do it again!!

Congrats Kip,

Thats two years in a row Buddy, Pretty soon we are going to have to start putting you with the likes of Cam Hanes, Randy Ulmer and all the other big deer killers here on this site.

When you going to come home and show your buddies down here how to kill a big buck. Heaven knows that I cant do it myself.

sweat buck!

did you draw the tag or was it over the counter?
Also did you guys use the lamas on your trip?

Archery is a year round commitment!!

Make some more room in in the Fowler trophy room. That is a beautiful buck and some great looking country. Way to go Kip!

having hunted the high country in CO I can tell you that is a well deserved buck.Thin air, big bucks, star lit nights, and open basins.........it don't get any better.

Congrats Kip on another great buck! Not to disrespect Randy Ulmer, but I am more impressed with Kips kills every year because his hunts are always self guided and usually with OTC tags.

That is a great looking buck and i'm sure you earned it. To only loose three inches to net is incredible

Congrats that is a great looking buck. It makes it even better that you worked so hard for it.

Congrats on a great high country buck! Nothing like hunting in God's Country above treeline. Having success on a buck like that is just icing on the cake. Way to Go!!!

Kip Congrates on yet another fine trophy. Thanks for sharing the pics and story.

Great buck Kip! It's always good to see a hometown boy get a good one. I don't live there anymore, but like to still visit once in a while. Anyway, way to go. Mark.
