Utah Southeast General Deer

Anywhere but the Manti

3/4 of the people that have this tag will be on the Manti so I would recomend going further away then that.

+ 1 on the manti, i'll be there also,,,, but one thing to remember they all go home on sunday afternoon,,,, pressure is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy less last 3 days of the season

This is true. which is nice when you live there and can get off work and hunt the evening for a couple of hours

Thanks for the info so far. We went up in the Monticello area 2 weekends ago. Didn't see much of anything but got rained out by about 10:00 AM on Saturday. Did see some thing really cool though. An albino fawn! Anyone have any new info to share. Not looking for anyones special spots just trying to get my second deer. Just get to hunt the weekend because of school.

Thanks

Try up and around Scofield, a lot of deer up there, also if you go up and over to the top of skyline, and drop down into any of those canyons on either the Huntington side, or Fairview you will see deer. It is some steep country, but they are in there, and some big ones too.

don't bother trying around mt.pleasant or spring city both roads are ruff as h*ll and haven't seen that many deer.

I spent alot of time up there this archery and muzzel loader hunts and didn't see alot of deer. Last year we saw alot of cats in the area. The one deer that we did get we went back to the same area only to find alot of cat tracks and no gut pile. Good luck on your hunt.I'm in the same boat as you in trying to find a place to hunt where there is some deer.

Hunted muzzleloader from 6 mile to Epraim canyon, killed a nice 22" 4x4, saw 2 that were much better and saw, suprisingly, a lot of 3 and 4 points, and in fact more bucks than does. Fairview, and 12 mile will be the most crowded, get off the main roads. I prefer hunting the terraces right off the top(skyline) either east or west. Don't be afraid to move, their is quite a bit of ground. They were logging on the top of manti on elderberry and little south during the muzz so beware of that.

+1 I have hunted hard from the opening weeeking of the archery hunt until now. There is just no deer above Mt Pleasant south to spring city canyon.I'm heading down south of Ephraim for some better luck.
