Me and my brother have been watching these bucks for months and we have both had chances to take these bucks with our bows we just have a hard time ending our hunt. We can hunt with our bows until the end of September. Then we can hunt with our rifles form October,10 to October,31. What would you guys here on MM do? And what are your estimates on what some of these bucks would score?

So I guess you are saying the biggest in the group is a worthy buck? Or should I hold out for bigger? These bucks feed up the same draw morning and night. I have had all of them within 20 to 30 yards. Most of these bucks rubbed their velvet last week. Maybe I will decide to close the deal this weekend will post pics if I do.

A couple of them would be on the top end of where I hunt in the Texas panhandle. It depends on what the average size is for your area and how much time you have. Whatever you decide to you, good luck!

I really like the looks of the buck in the 1st pic's. 3rd from the right. Heavy, tall, and decent forks! 20-30 yards away? I would of already shot him and had backstraps for dinner! If you see better deer than hold out, otherwise, nail one of them! Good luck.

I really liked him to. Only one problem he is only a 3x4 right side only has 3 points. He is the buck in the second pic on the right side. If only his right side was like his left he would have been finished weeks ago.

You,ve already made your choose it sounds like. I would continue to hunt also. Sounds like youu can hunt for some time still and pretty much have these bucks patterned anytime you want a chance at one of them. I would hold off and see what else shows up. Best of luck and hanks for sharing the great pictures. Post your buck when you find the one you want.

I think it all depends if you are happy with any of them. If you are mainly concerned with what others think of or are concerned that if it not big enough, that others may not approve, then you are hunting for the wrong reason.

If they meet your standards, then go ahead and shoot.

Great pictures. Many of them would make great trophies

Its not that I care what others think. But it nice to have others opinions. I have not shot one yet because I enjoy to hunt and their is always that chance of running into that buck that makes your jaw drop and you knees weak. I would just like to here some estimates what some of the larger bucks in the group would score.

If you think one of them is worthy, you probably ought to get r done - because if you believe some on here, there will be either someone following you to them tonight, or three guys waiting there, now that you have posted the photos.

I would have probably past on the bucks because I also wouldn't want to end my hunt early. In doing so I know there would be a good chance I would end up without filling my tag or end up with a smaller buck. As you probably know any buck that has survived more than a couple of Idaho's general season hunts will become much more difficult to hunt after the rifle season opens. They will also probably be more difficult to hunt now that their velvet is off. Based on what I've seen many of the older bucks don't spend as much time in the CRP once the velvet comes off. Good luck at putting a tag on a bigger buck than one in the pictures.

Since we know its Idaho, you can call me up and I'll shoot the littlest one. Some people don't have an opportunity like that. You should shoot!

Its up to you on what you shoot, not really anyone else can say yes or no cuz its your tag. Some people will say yes, and some people that have already killed 200" bucks will say no. Its what gets you excited! I would say yes though.

The lead Buck in the 2nd pic is the one I would shoot. Gotta love the height, regardless of width or # of points.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-21-08 AT 12:56PM (MST)[p]From past experinces if you haven't shot yet or you are still undecided the answer is don't shoot. You probably wouldn't be happy. Keep hunting and good luck.

Great bucks, if you think you'll be happy with them go after them. It looks like the two biggest bucks in the group are a wider 3x4 and a tall 3x3. I may be way off but I think the tall three point would score 163 and the wider three by four would score 167. Hope you get one of them, good luck!

thats cool that you have been able to watch these bucks for so long. A few of them are pretty good bucks. I think it depends on the quality of the unit and what you have seen scouting but it all boils down to what makes you happy. Good luck and congrats on finding some good bucks

if you have got bigger than him then no,but if you have not harvested a buck better than the biggest one than take him.

My answer is simple... I feel like a couple of those bucks would make great trophies for an archery hunter. Patterning large bucks and successfully harvesting one is the entire satisfaction of using a bow. OUTSMARTING is what makes the bow so satisfactory.
If I were to use a rifle on any of those ucks, after having passed them up with a bow, I don't think it would have the same satisfaction.
I say: They are worthy of an arrow!!! But you might want to rethink it with a bulet...
