There is a portion of Berthoud Pass that falls within 38. That would be a good area to start, if there is no snow. I have a friend who spooted several deer at and near timberline while hunting sheep. Be prepared for lots of people.

You also might want to look down at lower elevations as there are a lot of big deer that live there all year.
