We got back from seven days of deer hunting in the Hoback area yesterday. We experienced what everyone else did, a full moon and mid 70's temps. We saw a lot of bucks during the hunt in the 22-26 inch range with a couple of big boys mixed in. I don't now if was me or something else....but the mountains seemed much steeper than the last time I hunted this area in the 90's. After 6 days of hard hunting and passing on decent bucks looking for Mr. Big, I took a 23" 4x4. We had a blast.

That first pic is awesome Larry. Nice looking country! Sounds like you had a great, if maybe a little frustrating, hunt! Love to hear more!

Nice buck for the table and won't look bad in the rafters either!

Thanks for the report! X5b next?

I'm 55 years old and know what you mean about steeper hills. :)

Looks like awesome country to hunt in. Congrats on the nice buck.

It's a documented fact that geologic erosion makes the hills steeper every year. Also legs and dowackers get shorter.

BUMP... I didn't want these pics to get to far down the list. Great pic of the mountains, and I'm happy for you on your buck! Its always great to connect on a good buck. Thanks!!!

Thanks. I no longer got back from my hunt on Monday afternoon and had to turn around and fly to Kansas City for a food show. I can't wait to get home and take a nap, I'm tired.
