My son had the oppurtunity to take his first muley yesterday. After being winded we hustled around the small herd and waited for them to feed into us. We had sat down less then a minute and he came over the ridge and stood broad side. I ranged him at 115 yards and told Rosten to take the shot if he wanted to. After the smoke cleared we could see he was still standing there wondering where the shot came from. The second shot hit its mark and dropped him in his tracks. Suddenly he had a new found respect for the ol? smoke pole.
I have enjoyed a lot fun and successful hunts over the years with family and friends, but watching him take his first deer trumps all of them.
