Here's a quick rant: I'm sick of people apologizing for blood in the photo of their kill shots. I agree that if its easy to touch up the animal it makes for a better photo. No I don't like gory depictions of animals hit badly. However, lately its gotten to the point that any post where there is more than a spec of blood showing has an apology. I'm not blood thirsty but just a brief memo THIS IS HUNTING!! There is blood involved.

Sorry for saying sorry. Woops, I said sorry again. Sorry about that. AHHHHH

JK... I'm guilty of saying it on this guy. Couldn't clean him up and then noticed after getting home that he had gooo hanging out his mouth. Still wanted to share with my MM friends though.

I usually try to clean them up for the pics. Sometimes it doesn't work. Our audience is broader than just the killing machines that call MM home.

Thanks for humoring me! I would not put your photo in the category of gratuitous blood in the least. To me thats just a great hunting photo.

I can understand some folks not liking it. I personally dont wanna/hate seeing a big bull or buck gutted and hangin from a tree in a picture. However on the ground i absolutely love seein where the shot hit and some stuff just dont clean up. Second of all someone posted a hunt a few weeks ago with progressive photos of the blood trail that looked like a buckets of blood on the trail, that was one of the best photo documentation of a kill i have seen. I would love my trails to look like that and loved seeing one that did.

Great point bigwooley. I saw that same post and thought that blood trail photo dramatically enhanced the point the story of the hunt.

There is a little part of me that feels like we are pandering to the antis when we get too hyper sensitive about a little blood.

I think the avg american has lost touch with where meat comes from.

I think Ted Nugent puts it this way "You can't grill it, until you kill it."

As long as the animal looks natural in its environment i love it. I could careless about people takin big n' bad pics in the truck bed or hangin from a tree or mouth proped open, i personally just dont like em near as much as a big stinky bull where he fell or a big bear proped on a log. But again that blood trail got me wishin nov 28 comes alot quicker.

Theres a big sign at my work that goes something like this "Hey folks, dont you remember when meat came in its original package?"

Isn't it the truth!

It's just blood.
