Rangefinder Binos????

I'm tired of popping my glasses up on an animal, letting them down, pulling my rangefinder out of my pocket, ranging, then back in the pocket etc. Especially with bow hunting it's too much.

Does anyone know/recommend a rangefinder/binocular combo similar to the Leica BRFs that won't run me $2500?

I want more light in my rangefinder glass anyways because I can't see through them after sundown even though my binos gather a ton of light for another 30-40 minutes.

Thanks in advance!

Good question. I was in the market 3-4 years ago and bought the leopold glass rangefinder combo. There were a couple other issues, they were bulky and heavy, the glass was just so-so, but the main one was difficulty seeing the readout. The readout of yardage was in faint red or orange numbers. I admit that i'm some color blind and this may have affected my ability to read just how far the target was without perfect darker lighting conditions. In the end, i found them near useless for me, sent them back to Cabelas and did get a refund. I'd not advise you get them unless there have been modifications made. Later i read some reviews on them from a Mexico Muley hunt and others found the same problems i had with them.

I've been online and Leupold doesn' t make a full size combo anymore. They have a little 8x 20mm or so binorangefinder but it's nothing like the Leicas.

Good point on the digital display too. I wonder if there are any brands that have a "red dot" type disply that is a lot brighter?

save up and buy the leicas they are well worth the money. I've had mine two years now and love them. on_target

If you think the Leica's are expensive......the new Zeiss RF binoculars are even more....almost $3000.00 retail!

I have the Leica's........worth the money for sure, IMO.

It is such a tough pill for me to swallow! My 300 Ultra Mag Sendero with a Zeiss 6.5x20 scope on it ran me less than the geovids but the proof is in your responses! Thanks guys....layaway:)

And Another for Leica's. To be the best in the field you must have the best. Its a matter of you taking a chance of spooking the game with making the extra movement! ..... Buy them.

I have used my Leicas for two seasons now and have no complaints maybe one of the best investments I have ever made just buy them and don't think about the price you paid well worth the money I have never had a battery go dead but change it after every couple hunts just to be safe the Swarovski el 10x will give you. About 5 more minutes of light mornings and evenings but as far as better glass I would say about the same qaulity. One thing that will help ranging over 600 yards is to rest them on a tri pod if you carry a spotting scope in the field but they range very fast during any type light bright over cast you name it they work I have hit distances out past 1300 yards. My bud purchased a new pair from Cabelas this year he has to take back they will only range to about 100 yards that is the first pair I have heard that did not work well anyone else have any problems ranging with them?
