My wifes first hunt

LAST EDITED ON Oct-08-08 AT 01:00PM (MST)[p]After passing on this buck a dozen times in the first 18 days of the bow season I decided to take my better half hunting to see if maybe she felt he was a shooter?well she did and after we recovered her buck I hugged her and told her great job and that ?it was all down hill from here?.

This was the first time she had ever hunted in her life and she is hooked! We got within 70 yars first thing that morning and she was shaking like a leaf-It was awesome- we passed on him due to poor shooting conditions but she stayed on my hip all day and it payed off, we found him bedded and waited for him to get up and the rest is history...she did great, one shot @ 178 yards with a smoke pole and she had a borderline 200? buck under her belt.

He is really a great buck; he is 32 5/8 outside and 29 6/8 inside and has great mass.

I have been on more than my share of hunts and this one is by far the best day a field that I have been blessed to have!!

Hey everyone this is Jacki thanks for all your kind words, thanks Mike, thanks girls. I was born in NJ and raised in So. Cali and feel way more at home on the beach then in camo but I have to say that it was an awesome experience and such a huge rush I couldn't believe it! I plan on hunting again but with a bow - I think that would be so cool- anyway I owe it all to my husband, he was so patient with me and so encouraging and I know I was a pain especially when I was so nervous that first morning and blew it, he just said to not worry and be patient and promised me that he would find him again, no big deal! Well he did and when he did, he talked me through it and kept me calm and helped me make a good shot (he didn't even make fun of me when the scope cut my head) anyway thanks again for the compliments!I can't wait to go again!

Its not the same buck that I filmed earlier, he is still out there roaming around; it's actually my wife?s 2007 muzzle loader buck. She is about 8 1/2 months pregnant right now and pretty uncomfortable and feeling less than attractive-I posted the pics to get her mind off of things and I knew you guys/gals would give her some well deserved attention. I appreciate it tons! We are excited about the baby, it's our first boy (we have four girls) but she is bummed that she wasn?t able to get out there and hunt with me again this year and I have to say, looking back on it, I'm disappointed too!
