B & C score on this non-typical??

Personally, I have no interest in B & C scores. Sort of like many guys have no interest in whitetails, redheads, fly-fishing, golfing or shopping. The measuring tape out of my backpack is the only tape that will be put on any buck I shoot. My goal has always been a 30-incher ever since that magical day in 1967 in the Big Horn Mountains of Montana when I first laid eyes on two magnificent bucks standing side-by- side in very snowy conditions. If I am lucky to harvest a big buck, the outside spread measurement will be the only measurement taken. I don't give a hoot how much mass or how many points it is. My respect and admiration for a magnificent buck far transcends any numbers put on it. That is just me. Others may have plenty to disagree with and so be it.

That said, some guy from TN showed up on a web site the other day saying this buck was recently sold by his "ole man" in TN and had been taken in the early 1900's somewhere "out west". The fella claimed that this buck is a "B & C top 50 non-typical" buck and was to be measured this weekend at an outdoors show somewhere in TN. I know many of you are true aficionados of B & C scoring and go to great lengths to study and analyze great bucks and pictures thereof. I would be interested in what your thoughts are as to the B & C score of this great buck. That is a pair of sun glasses as a reference. Thanks in advance and to all, here's hoping we all could be so lucky to have an opportunity on a buck of this caliber this fall.

Monster buck ...no doubt. Looks like a 220ish main frame with major symmetry deducts that might net in the low 200s. Looks like the extras might put it somewhere in the 240 class....maybe more. Its a total stud of a buck! Top 50, probably not.

255

I don't believe you could even casually look at this buck without figuring it's somewhere in the makings of a all-time B & C book non-typ. Smoker!!

Wow, I'd say probalby nets around 245-250, probably grosses around 265-270. Monster buck.

Top 50? I don't think so.

I dont have the B&C book in front of me, but I'd think that buck would have a tough time making the top 250 listing. Would I shoot it with my strip tag? Hell yes!

You don't care about the score, but want to know the score? :)

Without the trash he would probably make top for Typicals, but either way he is larger than anything I will likely see in my lifetime. Very cool Deer, thanks for the pics.

I think you guys are a little high on the main frame. A little above 200 with 30 inches of extras. We really can't see and count all the extra inches from one picture though.

It takes about 275 to go top 50 all time B&C non-typical. That said, I think the typical frame is deceptively big. Even the smaller measurements are huge, so assymetry isn't going kill its score. Look at the brow tines and mass...giant! Thats extra score you don't often see. The larger typical measurements are of world record class proportions(provided the measurer chooses the longer G3 as the G3 on the drop tine side). If the picture angle doesn't show all the main beam on the drop tine side, it could net even bigger than I think.

At any rate , I'd guess that the mainframe would still net over 210. Add about 40 inchs of visible trash and you get around 250 + or -, still no top 50 buck. Maybe the picture doesn't show all the trash well.
