If you have a good spotting scope, start in the grocery store parking lots. I spot almost all the bucks I see from the road or big parking lots. No sense in hiking around looking for bucks on the Wasatch front when you can see 90% of the country from the city.
I would wait for a good snow storm and then they will start sticking out like sore thumbs. So far I have not seen as many deer as usual. I think the winter killed quite a few local deer on the front. As soon as we get some snow those big bucks will make thier way down and it should be a good hunt.
Farmington, Bountiful are good areas to hunt before the snow hits. Just take the roads up to the top and hunt some high country. But when the snow hits, just drive around and glass the hills.
