my son drew a washington late season any buck tag. it opened today, so we thought we'd go see what was out there. we weren't lookin' for anything huge, just a respectable buck. actually, more for the meat...
anyway, parked the 4-wheelers and hiked up a big canyon in the dark. hadn't been there before, so didn't know what to expect. saw a small 2 point right away...he passed on him...
then he spotted an 'o.k.' 4x4...remember, this is washington...he was 'rutting' a doe, and neither could have cared less that we were there...he was gonna 'fill his tag' right there, but was 'giving it some thought'...
'thinking it over'...
thinking, nah'...i'll let him go...
one more 'look'...
he 'walks'...
we let him go, and hiked back down to the 4-wheelers...he looked across the draw, saw another one, and said, 'i'll take this one'...good part was we only had to drag him about 200 yards...
not huge, but 'he'll do'...
i didn't get to hunt, but had just as much fun with the camera...
