Here is another guess the score post. Their kind of fun and anyhow I'm curious to see if my guess is inline with what other people think. Sorry the pics are not the best, but they are frames from a video.

Is this buck a shooter?

Would you shoot or pass?

What is his width and what would he score?

Purdy buck. For me no question lead would fly. I'd say very few would pass. For the score, don't know/don't care.
 
in my opinion he looks mature and the width is hard to tell but id guess itd around 27-28, and i think hed go about 170, not alot of mass but hes tall and i love that so id take him depending on the unit and the tag, season etc etc.... great buck though!
 
Pardon me. Who cares about the freakin score. Bucks like that need to die. You just tell me where the pic was taken and I'll go shoot him for you. Is he a shooter??? what kinda jacked up freakin question is that?! If you need to know the score before you shoot you need to quit deer huntin. I never posted the score on my birdie buck from this year cuz i shot him caring less what he could score. You find a big one. You shoot a big one. Its that simple. Hey, you need a left nut? I'll give you one if I can shoot that buck!

stinky.... what if you had a henrys tag and you saw that deer, would you shoot him then? thats what i meant by tag, season unit, blah blah blah..... a general tag hell yeah id shoot him! even most limited entry units hes a shooter.....
 
Great main beams, great backs, short G4's, No eye guards.If he had eye guards he would be a 180+ buck. My guess is 178". He is easy 30"s.
 
Like mentioned above, it all depends on the unit and what is "average" for that area.

No doubt that is a fine buck, gorgeous in anyone's book, Henry's....he walks.

I'd dare say he's 28" wide, solid 185".

I agree stinky. Who cares about the score. It is a good looking buck. Just curious to see what people think. Oh, and by the way when looking through the binocs the buck does have eye guards.
 
Yes, it very much depends on where you're at... but in the better places i've hunted, i pass on that buck every time except maybe the last weekend. That last Pic shows his lack of height really well and i think he's only about 25", small fronts, med to short main beams, he's 170 class, maybe. Just my opinion, don't mean to rile anybody.

That buck is a freakin toad in my book! I'd say definite shooter 29 inches wide and gross 185. Kill him anyhwere but a few of the elite units. buckspotter
 
hypothetically speaking. I have the governor tag in my back pocket. Im on the henry mountains. What's the first thing I would do? Put the butt of my gun in the side of slamdunks head. What's the second thing I do? shoot the buck. What's the third thing I do? empty the rest of my magazine into him. What's the fourth thing I do besides reload? I ask slam if he can see the buck a little better. Maybe the blow to the head helped clear his thought process. Just my two cents...
 
Looks 27-28" wide and 175-180 to me. Here in the Texas panhandle, he's an upper end buck and I would put a stalk on him. Our season is closed until Nov. 22nd. Rifle season opens then and runs for 16 days. I'm hunting with a bow and looking for a 190" that I saw in bow season but this buck would be hard to pass.
 
We definitely need more hunters like u guys! I can just imagine the mounts on my man cave wall. And it would be easy. All I'd have to do is follow u guys around and beg for table scraps. maybe I need to change my name to bottom feeder. I say shoot that buck. mr almighty muledeer hunter missed my buck this year by 20 pts. if I wouldve let him call the shot I would have past a perfectly good MONSTER! Get this... after he measured the deer he didn't believe it had me measure it. Then he had the nerve to call and ask what the bc scorer came up with.

I think slam needs to get the muscle milk out of his eyes
 
Thanks for posting this. I agree it's fun to hear everyone's take. Here's my two cents for what it's worth. Which ain't much.

Shooter? Yep, no questions no hesitation.

Shoot or pass? SHOOT and SHOOT NOW!

Score? Who the heck cares, I'd be tickled to death to have this bugger on my wall. Heck of a deer. BUT, if I was to get 160-170"... and Im probably way off on that.

I say lower 160's. Looks a little weak up front and not a lot of mass. I would shoot him though! Nice looking buck and thanks for the pics.
 
Where I hunt most times, this buck would be getting familiar with the back of my pick-up......Having said that, I dont think he's 170". Low 160"s at most IMO................

So what do you say he scores? Take your score, add 20 points to that and bam you have a giant buck. Slam would rather you pass up guaranteed booner than risk not shooting a buck over 260 typical! He has a reputation to uphold or something. I may be a muley whore, but lets see if slammy is good enough to get me to pull the trigger on a stinky on dutton next year.

Looks to be right around 180 to me. I'm not sure where the low 160s are coming from, maybe I am way off.

Shoot him and let us know what he scores!
 
Oh that bad boy is ALL of 180+....no doubt about it!

But on the Henry's........we'll let him go till next year. ;-)

I just came up with a SOLID 178"....and i think i may be a little short on two of my measurements.
He's not an inch less than 178", but will do a little better by at least 2".

I like Blueberry and Cookies N Cream flavor ;-)

He's a nice buck for sure, I'd definately give him a ride in my truck. But I don't think he will go 180. Weak eyeguards if they are existant and weak up front with not much mass, good backs. I'd put him in the low 170s. 173" is my estimate. Between my bucks and all my friends when scouting and then measuring on the ground I have never been more than 2 inches off in either direction but pictures can be very deceiving.
 
I'll post one more pic tonight, to make sure slam doesn't blow a chance at that muscle milk. So far a lot of the guesses are pretty close to what I was thinking.

I have four bucks at home that are from 168" to 183".
I have one right at 173" that looks similar to that buck, but not nearly as wide on his inside spread or as long of G3's.

Your picture buck is as close to a 180" deer as i have ever seen, given an inch either direction.

And if that buck is only 170"......i have let a lot of monsters go in my day and i should be hung in the streets naked and whipped by my clientel. Lol

......and if i catch you lying, i WILL turn those squaws loose on ya while your hog tied to a chair!! Lol

I think the deer is real close to 170. I can not even almost see 180 with no mass,no eye guards, and weak g4's.
Main beam-23
g2-17
g3-11
g4-8
total mass-16.5
Inside spread of main beam-20
total=171
 
VELVETRUSH-
Our numbers are very close, except i gave him better G3's & 4's, along with an inside spread credit of 23.
I gave his mass 27" total for both sides.
There is no way that buck only has 13" of mass per side.

The numbers you are posting are one side X2 equaling 171".
That bucks tines all vary up to 2" each.

You guys coming up with a close to 180 score ought to take a good look at doggbiters "What's he score" thread. Now, That's a 180+ buck. You put these two bucks side by side or on a Judges table and his will dwarf this buck. Also his has very few deductions...

Not taking anything away from this guy but i believe you shoot him and you're going to see ground shrinkege, big time. Like i said above, low 170's, maybe.

The numbers I came up with are very close to VELVETRUSH, but remember this buck does have eyeguards, not big, but they will score.

I don't know what sounds better cookies and cream or a Big Mac.

Apparently all the muscle milk has made my pupils too large.
I'll take an early retirement from guiding and take up golf.

He's a 170" buck, 171" at best :-(
