Be sure to watch the video clip!

My buddy, Adam Eakle, and I dug up this great buck on opening day after passing a real good 4x6 cheater buck. We couldn't get this bad boy on opening day, he was just too far and went around the mountain.

On day two, we had him coming our way. We worked into rifle range and setup. But, the buck followed his doe into an aspen pocket and we didn't see him again that day.

On day three, we positioned ourselves perfectly and there he was....only 220 yards away. Adam missed by a mile on the first shot, but hit perfect on the second.

This is the biggest buck that Adam has ever taken. I am really glad that I was there to help my buddy out. He's been a great friend to me and deserved whatever help I could offer. It was a fun hunt!

Awesome buck Adam!!!!

Here's the video clip...you guys will like it!!

Great buck Adam and great video Brian and Adam. I got excited for you just watching how excited you were on video. Job well done, Steve

Good job on a great BUCK!! Thanks for sharing the moment with us through video, it was a lot of fun to watch.

Great job Adam! - That thing is beautiful. Great second shot too. He was dead in his tracks at that point I do believe.

Love the "man love" scene too. People who have never had an experience like this would think, ummm, uhhhhh, well lets's just say - they probably wouldn't understand it! Great video though. Great buck. I appreciated the excitement.

Much Congrats!
The excitement shown on the vid outplays the beauty of this buck. The experience is what it's all about and I would never trade that "success feeling" for anything in the world. AWESOME!!

Thanks guys for all the kind comments, Brian and I had a memorable hunt.

I'm sure glad Brian was there to not only help me with the boundaries of the private and public grounds, but to talk me out of that 4X6 cheater buck. He's a good buck, but not quite the caliber of this buck. We felt extremely lucky to find this buck on three different days and find him within shooting range on the third. The deer are very wild and would run at the sight of anything in orange. I still can't understand how I missed the buck the first shot, but connected the second and third?

I'm glad we were able to capture the moment, not only of the shot, but of the excitement as well. I may have looked a little goofy, but that's just me, anyone who has hunted with me will tell you that I can get a little excited. I felt like a teenager again, but like someone said.."when you loose that, you might as well stop hunting." The only regret I have is not having one of my kids with me, but the warden wouldn't allow my oldest to miss school? Some people and their priorities?

Brian's had definetely had some luck this year, but I know now it's much more than luck. This guy eats, drinks, sleeps, basically lives for big bucks and I understand now, how he has the success that he has had. I'm sure I'll remember this hunt more for the person I was with and the time that we had, than the size of the buck, although size does matter, but that's another story.

When I get some time, I'll have to tell you guys the story of the mouse. I never knew THE monster muley man was such a sissy when it comes to a little tiny mouse?, but again, that's another story for another time.

Very nice Adam. Congrates. I never even new you were going last I talked to you. Any how nice miss on your first shot, have to call you shaky fingers. HEHE JK Great buck. Congrates again man.

When you quit getting excited after shooting a big buck that's when you know it's time to hang it up. I thought it was fun to watch you freak out like you did. :)

Great buck! You deserve him!

Not goofy at all. We've all had or given big ole gay hugs..... not. Teasing man, Anyone that doesnt get a little emtional after taking a great animal, like Shawn mentioned, needs to hang it up. I was grinning ear to ear for you watching the video. Actually I think you were pretty calm about it, I do a whole lot more jumping and yelling and hugging and hitting of my friends.
