been looking for the right cot... we tried the Slumberjack but seems you need a small army or a come-along/winch to put the motha together! anyone have any suggestions?

My buddy used one from Cabelas the Big Guy cot or something along that line it was a easy to put together and work great, Had aclother hanger at the end a rifle scabbard along side it and it has very nice mattress.

I like my slumberjack...never had a problem putting it together..

I have the one that's called the Big Cot, not sure if it's the same one that Gator is referring to but I picked it up at Sportsmans Warehouse for like $55. It's awesome, 84" long and like 36" wide or something, it's high enough to put large containers underneath to save room in the tent and it DOESN'T SQUEAK at all when you move!!! :). Easy to put togeher and strong.

My brother & I have been using the slumberjack for 6-7 years. We both like them, no problems putting them together.

I believe I have the same one. Remember WIDE is good when it comes to cots. I bought three of them a few years back and really like them.

I can't believe I went that long without owning one.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-16-08 AT 09:22PM (MST)[p]you guys kidding me? the big cot? thats the one I had... it was a "B" to put together! is there a trick to getting the end bar attached? I am 5'10" 200lbs and in pretty good shape and I COULD NOT get it to go! i must agree, it was great once put together, but the whole ordeal just plain sucked!

I used to have a problem putting my together until I got smart and made me a 24 inch pry bar out of an old hockey stick handle. With the leverage provided by the pry stick. it's an easy task even for this 62 year old.
