A buddy and I picked up a couple of left over tags and had a great time. His is right at 30in and mine ~24in. Both were hot on does and had no idea we were there. Mine actually was a bruiser. Massive neck, wide head and a deep chest. The thing just looked like a rodeo bull.

Holy cow mpDMD-great bucks. My guess is that you outdid most hunters in the limited units (including me). Looks like you headed into the timber to get'm.....

Wow, i cant believe that you killed those bucks on leftover tags. Congrats! You did better then a lot of guys who had to spend a handful of points

It was on the 4th rifle season. My buddy said in years past there were over a hundred or two left over but this year there was only like 60 or something like that. And they were gone in a couple hours

You betcha... its not a popular unit but is closer to Denver so we took it. We're both students/residents at CU and figured we needed something closer due to not much extra time to scout or hunt but it worked out great

I hope you paraded those bucks around Boulder!! You are the extreme minority in that town when it comes to being a hunter!
Congrats and thanks for sharing!

My first impulse was to strap it across the hood of my dodge cummins and leave black smoke all over the town.... but my conscience got the best of me and I left it in the bed. But I did leave enough antler above the edge so it could be seen. I got some good looks on the highway

I have 6 preference points what does anybody know about unit 70, 4th season CO for deer? or any other unit to burn 6 preference points

Keith, nicely done. I wouldn't be missing Vegas at all when you're out doing that! Congratulations!

Great bucks, not bad for a first CO hunt. Both of those are brutes. Congrats to both hunters and thanks for posting the pics.
