The miracle buck

I think it was a miracle that my friends buck never got busted up after the 200 foot fall it took. I took this video with my camcorder across the canyon from both the hunter and the buck at about 300 yards out. It was in Utahs Central Region, public land.

that second shot sent him uphill. he was going down... lucky he didnt bust him up.

I don't want to be rude, but thats exactly the crap we as hunters should NOT put on you tube and out for the general public to see. Yes, thats part of hunting and we know it, but we don't need to give any more ammo to those animals rights freaks. They'll take stuff like that and use it against us. Remember Obama is going to be our president, and im sure all the freaks around him would love to shut us down.

Oh well. He killed the buck. Liberals will find their "ammo" whether we post it on youtube.com or not. I'm glas you were able to take him down.

Looked like a nice deer. Congrats!

LAST EDITED ON Nov-20-08 AT 08:53AM (MST)[p]Big congrats on that buck.

I don't mean to be rude either but who gives a rip what they think. They know what we do, its not a secret. They are gonna hate us no matter what. We just need to keep doing what we know is right. I'm more worried about those in our own hunting circles who are willing to give ground to these anti wacko's. They will always hate who we are and what we do, the worst thing we can do is relent in certain areas and give up ground so they can continue to walk on us. Stand firm and NEVER show any shame for anything ethical we as hunters do, they can go screw themselves!

I think you're over reacting a little RandallT. If kill shots and dead deer rolling down a hill are going to end hunting for us, then it's already over.

Congrats on a nice buck by the way.

RandallT, I agree with these other guys about not trying to hide what happens to deer when shot in steep cliffy terrain. They usually take a fall and alot of the times will brake an antler or two. You didn't hear any laughing or joking on tape about how funny it was or anything. After I turned the tape off, I remember saying- man that really sucks. I was only showing how bad the fall was on this buck(he actually fell about another 100 feet before stopping)and amazingly never broke anything. Here a better look at it when we walked up to it.

Guys, dont get me wrong here, this doesn't bother me and it is a nice buck. All I was saying, and I'm not the first, is that we should try and present our animals to the public with the utmost respect. Tv hunting shows don't show their deer all bloody'd up and mangled, they take time and groom the deer and make it look presentable. This was a decision made by hunters long before us to show more respect to the animals, especially when it's posted in such a public forum. Were under enough fire guys, we don't need any people out there wanting to stop what we love. Thats my 2 cents and my opinion on the matter, if you guys disagree, thats ok. I have guys that I hunt with that would disagree, but they're still my buddies.

Sweet buck. There is nothing wrong with that video. The kind of people who find this video offensive will also find a dead animal offensive whether there is blood or not. It sucks when they roll but it all part of the hunt.

That just like the tumble my Wyo. buck took this year he was 376 yds uphill and slide, rolled, tumbled and bounced all the way down to about 5o ft from the bottom didn't break a thing.

First of all that video was not crap. Second when you look at Youtube you can view all sorts of hunting videos ie Mossback outfitters. Loved the video lets see some more.

Thats a good video, I dont think it was rude or offensive at all. Its a great buck, and a miracle he did not bust up. Its when people post videos of gut shots and and a game animal suffering that I would have a problem with. Congrats!!! Thank you for sharing!!!!!

there is a lot worse things on youtube besides that! like others have said, the demo's will find ammo regardless. just wait until obama inlists socialized hunting. when i kill something, im going to have to share the meat with everyone:) nice video and congrats to your buddy.

We will never win the argument by hiding what we do as long as we do it ethically. For folks I run into that do not understand hunting, the most important thing to them is that I eat what I kill, not if the deer slides far down a hill.

That was some great footage, that's incredible to watch that that thing tumble end over end and all antlers in tack. I gotta say that besides watching the buck hit the ground hearing the echo of that shots is awesome. I'd like to hear the story behind that.

RandallT makes a good point and something that we should all keep in mind. Whenever possible, we should clearly communicate the respect that we have for the game we pursue.

However like Ridgetop pointed out, there was no laughter in the background as the buck rolled down the hill. Laughter or joking would have shown disrepsect for the life of this animal. Instead silent pleas were uttered that the buck stop it's downward tumble. That's how it happened and no one should have to apologize or hide the truth.

If the buck had been shot and dropped in it's tracks I am sure he would have still posted the video to share his hunting experience. That shouldn't change because the buck tumbled.

Sorry, I did post another link but I think it got deleted by the mods. Also, I tried to upload it onto Monsterhuntclips but the format is not compatable and it is running in fast motion, maybe Brian or someone can fix that problem.
