I was looking over the Draw odds and noticed that I should have a really good chance of drawing the Triangle muzzy tag. I have two more years before I can get back into the elk pool and would like to draw my deer before then. I was pretty set on the Book Cliffs muzzy tag, but that might take a couple more years of waiting. Is the Triangle a good unit to take a quality buck with a muzzy?

Be very very very careful on chosing that tag. Know what your risks are. I know the area well, and my nephew drew the muzzy tag this year, and it was a COMPLETE bust. It's very weather dependent.

The DWR actually moved the rifle hunt back this year because of it being so weather dependent, but they DIDN'T MOVE THE MUZZY HUNT BACK!!! It wasn't even my tag and I was pretty upset. It sounds like they may move it back next year, but watch out.....

As already mentioned, it is almost totally weather dependent. You take a chance but, if there is an early snow and snows often and deep, then you could have a fun hunt and see a few really nice deer. I hunted this unit with my smokepole before they made it a LE and we really enjoyed seeing all the deer on the Colorado side and occasionally some on the Utah side.

Thanks for the info guys. It seems like the weather is coming later and later every year. After reading your replies, I think I will take my chances with the Books. I have 6 points, is there any quality CWMU units that I might have a chance at drawing in 2009 or even in 2010?
