I will make the recommendation that you give serious consideration to the services of Lindsey Channel.

http://www.channeloutfitters.com/

Now let me tell you some reasons why. You want honesty in an outfitter you fork over your hard-earned money too? You want a hunt for a great mule deer where there isn't a chance that your outfitter will say, "Take him, he is a shooter" when it is at best a dinker and the reason the outfitter is saying that is to get you on down the road? Want to associate for a week with a family man that neither drinks nor smokes and loves the animals he puts his hunters on? Give Lindsey a ring. It's a free call.

You not only might make a great friend you might just put the biggest buck of you life on the wall.

With the goals you listed there should be plenty of private land outfitters that would provide you a good service.. Check their 08 references and good luck.

CAHunter-go to www.newmexicobiggamehunting.com, then to New for 2009 page, scroll down to the middle and look for the Rio Hondo Land and Cattle description. This place has more deer/mile than anywhere in NM and its price is excellent!! There is also a photo gallery of Rio Hondo on the Photo page. Jimbo

So an outfitter that drinks and smokes makes him no good????WTF keep your religion out of judging outfitters

Religion? WTF? If you are referring to Chippewa's post - you better go read it again.

Ill tell ya right now, I don't care how much damn money I pissed away, if I showed up for a hunt and a guide drank or smoked my presence, I would pack up and leave, and it has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with religion.

Im not sure why it matters, I doubt any guide worth his salt would drink or smoke near a client, but it really isn't a relgious deal, don't you think?

I don't think it's worth blowing a fuse over but I don't hunt with guys that smoke and I have good friends that do. I don't mind a little drinking in camp but it can get carried away and it doesn't belong on a guided hunt. Not when you consider how much you are spending. I would look at Colorado and Wyoming. 7J Outfitters in Wyoming are really successful and I have heard nothing but good things about them. Your goals are about as realistic as I've seen on here. If you do your homework there should be plenty of options. Check references!!!!!! Good luck and enjoy hunting with your dad.

It's always an adventure!!!

I'd recommend R&K Hunting. I have hunted with Justin Richins a few years back and loved it. Great guys, great areas and high chance of success. PM me if you want more information on them.

I know Justin very well and have seen his operation grow. You cant go wrong with them

I've heard Steve Wisz of Santa Maria, Ca. is very good and will put you on the biggest spikes you've ever seen!!

What's up, Andy? Plannin' on a hunt with your Dad? I hope you guys get it figured out. I've thought about doing a guided hunt with my Dad but then we think of the cost. We can have a DIY hunt in Wyoming like we usually do two or three times for what we'd spend on a guided hunt. Although, I am very tempted to do it the older I get. Good luck, Andy.

Justin,
I have 6 Wyoming moose points. Am I even close to drawing a tag for one of your ranches?
