LAST EDITED ON Jan-09-09 AT 04:28PM (MST)[p]Here are the pictures of the buck I killed this year in Colorado. I took him on the 3rd day of the muzzloader season after passing on him the first morning.
Big thanks to jack_sparrow as he gave let me know about this buck a month prior to the season and I was able to find him again on opening day.
He is an 8x7 on a 184" main frame with 13" of extras.

No, I dont smoke that stuff! I was just so excited that I wanted to keep staring until I feel asleep, the old lady carried me to bed and I put my toy away until the next day.

I don't know dude, looks like you blazed something in photo 1. Nice buck!

Id like to see a photo of the one you were after on the first amd second day?

Great buck!

Geeze!

That buck looks eerily similar to the one my kid took last October in Wyo they could be twin brothers.

CONGRATS ON A GREAT BUCK!!!

I first day i found him he only gave me about 25 sec to look at him. The view was straight on and I couldnt judge the size and really didnt know how much trash he was packin. I thought he was a shooter but I wanted to be sure.

I found him in his bed on the 3rd day and once again we had a stare off. This time he was cooperative and showed off to the left then to the right. Thats when I decided he would do.

I did have a couple of other bucks scouted that may have been bigger but its really hard to turn down a buck like this.

That's a GREAT buck.....with good G1's too! Congratulations on a trophy of a lifetime.

I think you were smokin to pass that buck up the first day. Beautiful buck

Great frame and eyeguards! Nice work man. Smoke all the Js you want-- you earned one!

Yep you deserved a BUD after harvesting a buck like that.
That's a Smoker Buck..

Musta been smoking something to pass up that buck on the opener.

Throw us a doggy bone here . . .

What part of, or unit in, CO?

wstn tends to look like that every friday night when he tries to hang with me. i dont see more than 185 for that buck. i must say for such a small hunter that is a big rack.

Your being generous when you say 185. It is slightly smaller on the "main frame". Maybe if you werent so jealous you would realize the extras count too.

I cant believe that you talk crap now but when i showed you in person, all you could do was ask me to autograph your hat and beg me to teach you my secrets.

Dont make me bring up D9 in front of everyone.

I was somewhere south of Meeker, north of Durango, and east of Vail. That about narrows it down, doesnt it?
Just a little sarcasm but I dont want to make it harder to draw tags where I hunt.

Hey buddy old pal, send me a map or GPS cord. of your honey hole. I won't tell a soul. LOL Damn nice buck, congrats. Jason

LMMFAO, REZ dont be a TOOL, you cant come on here and question what somebody else scored a buck at, when you yourself is being quetioned on your own scoreing skills. Stop acting like a Jackass and stop trying to impress us.

This buck is every bit as big as the one you put up, ya his 4s are a little shorter (not much) but his G1s are alot bigger, and he has better G2s. other than that they are really quit simmular frame wise.

Damn!!!!!!!! Hunt_rez caught me. It is a 197 and 5/8" buck. Rounding is not allowed i guess. I thought it didnt matter since it is not a book buck and I couldnt remember what we wrote down while scoring.
If you want to put your money where your MOUTH is tell me where it isnt adding up, main frame or extras( I gave both measurements). I will give you the mount if it isnt what i say it is. If you cant make those numbers work off the pictures, you have no hope of being able to ever being able to field judge a deer.

Unlike you, I find big deer and I dont have to have them show up on a reservation to hunt like you do.

STAY OFF MY POST!!!!!( if you all you can do is question the facts)

rez.rez.rez. not a smart guy. come on down. lets hear your rant and raves about all us hillbilly hicks. come on. i cant wait to hear it. your an idiot

Nice eye guards, decent extras. I just think he has a short front end. Thats all. damn nice muzzy buck. Especially for state land.

Width isnt everything, its the ONLY thing.

You're welcome Justin. I am glad you were able to go in there & kill him. It was fun for me to help you harvest him.
You seemed to be the only guy that took me seriously.

It makes me sick when guys knock the bucks people post on MM. How often do hunters kill that perfect buck with no short points? Your buck is a helluva trophy & one that 99.99% of all hunters would be proud to take. How many hunters would honestly pass up your buck because he has a weak G4? Not too many!!

One of these days I WILL catch up with you to see your buck. I will be out there again the last weekend of June. I will be giving you a call.

Take care & happy hunting!!

That is a heck of a buck, gorgious buck, if someone says other wise in my opinion it is sheer jealousy and foolish. Congrats on an awesome buck.

Here are a few live photos of westernsky's CO muzzy buck taken about 3 weeks before he was harvested. Justin, I hope you don't mind me putting them up. I was hoping you were going to post them. Sorry the pics aren't the greatest. They were taken through a spotting scope.
